OWN ups programming exec Jill Dickerson

U.S. cable net OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network has promoted Jill Dickerson (pictured) to senior VP of programming and development.

The exec joined OWN in 2009 as VP of programming and development, and helped bring in such series as Welcome to Sweetie Pie’sFlex & Shanice and Deion’s Family Playbook. Dickerson is presently overseeing the upcoming series For Peete’s Sake, as well as a prime-time series featuring Rev Run and Tyrese Gibson.

In her new role, she will continue to collaborate with producers on unscripted programming, as well as supervise the editorial management of outside production.

Prior to boarding OWN, Dickerson served as a consulting producer and head writer for MTV’s The Real World, where she worked on seasons in Sydney, Hollywood and Brooklyn. The exec’s duties included developing all storylines and overseeing structure and editing.

Previously, Dickerson was series producer for TLC’s Miami Ink, supervising producer for VH1′s My Fair Brady and co-executive producer on Venus & Serena: For Real. In addition, she was a supervising story producer for the first seasons of The Bachelorette and Making the Band.
