Jon Taffer, host of Spike TV hit Bar Rescue, has signed a first-look deal with the Viacom-owned cable net to develop more content.

Bar Rescue, produced by 3 Ball Entertainment, premiered on Spike in 2011. In the series, Taffer attempts to turn the fortunes of failing bars around with a combination of business smarts and an “in your face” style of consultation.

“Throughout four seasons of Bar Rescue, America has witnessed Jon Taffer transform small businesses with his innovative techniques and big ideas,” said Sharon Levy, executive vice president of original series for Spike TV, in a statement. “We can’t wait to see what else Jon has to say on Spike. This is just the beginning.”

“Spike TV has been extremely supportive since day one and I couldn’t imagine signing this deal with any other network,” said Taffer. “Together we have grown Bar Rescue into a household name and programming staple. I look forward to continuing our work in creating original content that builds on our tremendous success to date.”
