Australian broadcaster SBS has hired Glen Caro as executive producer of its flagship current affairs program Insight.
He will oversee production and replace outgoing executive producer Angus Llewellyn, who is taking an extended break after five years in the job.
Caro was the supervising producer for Nine Network’s Today Show, Australia’s long-running breakfast news show. He spent three years overseeing the weekend edition before becoming the coordinating producer for the weekday program.
Prior to that, he worked in the U.S. as a producer for CBS news programs 60 Minutes and 48 Hours.
“Glen brings a wealth of diverse journalistic and production experience to the role and will continue the program’s reputation for facilitating debate around the issues most important and relevant to contemporary multicultural Australia,” said SBS’ director of news and current affairs, Jim Carroll, in a statement.
