International cable company Liberty Global has bolstered its partnership with A+E Networks through an enhanced pan-European deal.

The long-term distribution deal is set to cover A+E Networks’ UK channels on Liberty Global platforms in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Romania, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The agreement will include the introduction of both H2 and Lifetime HD channels simulcast throughout the UK and Ireland, in an effort to reach an estimated three million new households. The new deal will also provide access to new non-linear rights, offering Liberty Global customers greater access to A+E Networks channels and content across all platforms and connected devices.

Under the deal, factual entertainment channel History will receive broader distribution and has been added to all basic packages in the Netherlands, Hungary and Romania, adding almost three million subscribers.

All current A+E Networks UK channels are to remain on existing Liberty Global platforms, reaching more than 15.5 million subscribers.
