ITV Studios Finland names new CEO

ITV Studios Finland has hired Yellow Film & Television exec Pete Paavolainen (pictured) as CEO following Aram Aflatuni's decision to step down.

ITV Studios Finland has hired Yellow Film & Television exec Pete Paavolainen as CEO following Aram Aflatuni’s decision to step down.

Aflatuni will stay on with the company for a couple of months as an executive producer on the program Unknown Refugee, a spokesperson confirmed to realscreen.

Paavolainen will take up the position in the new year. Formerly head of entertainment for Helsinki-based Yellow Film & Television, he will work to expand ITV Studios’ entertainment and factual entertainment production in Finland, with a focus on exploiting ITV Studios formats in addition to original development.

While at Yellow, Paavolainen led entertainment and development and oversaw formats such as Comedy Combat and Good or Bad News.

Prior to that, he was head of formats for MTV Finland, where he acquired such formats as Survivor, Big Brother, Strictly Come Dancing, Hell’s Kitchen and Idol.

The exec will report to ITV Studios Nordic CEO Hans Engholm.
