UK network ITV has ordered a non-broadcast pilot of Dutch producer Talpa’s format The Wishing Tree.

Shiver, the factual arm of ITV Studios, is set to produce. The primetime family entertainment series sees young children hang a wish on a tree on behalf of someone they think deserves it. The wishes are then fulfilled.

Talpa launched the format at MIPCOM last October and it has since been commissioned by networks in Belgium, Greece, Moldova and Slovakia. The second season of The Wishing Tree is airing in the Netherlands.

Richard Hastings is exec producing ITV’s pilot for Shiver. Yvonne Alexander is the series producer and Peter Davey commissioned for ITV.
