Destination America orders “Paranormal” special

Discovery Communications-owned net Destination America will mark October with a supernatural television event from Groff Entertainment.

The tentatively titled Paranormal Lockdown Halloween Special will chronicle paranormal investigator Nick Groff and ghost hunter Katrina Weidman as they investigate Yorkshire, England’s Black Monk House (pictured), renowned for its violent poltergeist activity. Paranormal researcher, demonologist and Haunted Collector star John Zaffis will provide analysis.

For more than 50 years, visitors to the Black Monk House have reported demonic sounds, levitating objects and individuals being physically attacked, including an instance in which a young girl was dragged up a flight of stairs by an unseen assailant. The supernatural home is believed to lie upon an ancient burial ground.

The one-off will feature Groff and Weidman as they confine themselves to the infamous home in an attempt to capture paranormal evidence.

The two-hour special is part of the network’s month-long ‘Ghostober’ stunt.

Groff Entertainment’s Nick Groff and Justin Narragon serve as executive producers alongside Destination America’s Fay Yu.

Paranormal Lockdown Halloween Special is set to premiere October 28 at 9 p.m. EST/PST.

Elsewhere, filming on the sophomore season of Paranormal Lockdown is currently underway and is slated to broadcast across Destination America early next year.
