In partnership with SEO Entertainment, Germany’s ZDFNeo has commissioned a 6 x 60-minute season of Armoza Formats’ Re-Gender.
To be broadcast locally as Sexchange (pictured above), the factual format explores gender stereotypes and will begin airing in mid-April.
Re-Gender, which previously aired on Israel’s Channel 10, gives five men and women the chance to experience life as a member of the opposite sex, discovering what men and women really think as they dress in drag and go through temporary transformations.
In a joint statement, Uwe von Grafenstein and Gillad Osterer, the managing partners of Germany-based producer SEO Entertainment, said: “Sexchange has a huge appeal to all kinds of audiences combined with the clever reality TV storytelling…which gives [viewers] a deep insight into the mechanism of a society.”
Uwe von Grafenstein is executive producer of the series for SEO Entertainment.
