Discovery Channel hires Pastor, ups Coffman

U.S. net Discovery Channel has named Paul Pastor (pictured, left) as its exec VP of network strategy, revenue and operations, and promoted Craig Coffman (right) to VP of production.

Pastor, who reports to Discovery Channel president Rich Ross, will be responsible for developing the network’s overarching business strategy, driving operational efficiencies and serving as a key network partner and liaison for ad sales, finance, distribution, digital, and Discovery Networks International.

He was previously at The Walt Disney Company and served as senior VP of strategy and consumer analytics for the Disney/ABC Television Group.

Coffman, meanwhile, will be responsible for the production of programs, maintaining the quality of current series through production and delivery and identifying writers, producers and talent for new programming.

He most recently served as senior exec producer on numerous series for Discovery’s ‘Motor Mondays,’ including Fast N’ LoudStreet Outlaws and Misfit Garage.

Coffman will report to Denise Contis, Discovery Channel’s exec VP of development and production.
