China’s Chongqing Satellite Television (CQTV) has brought on Shanghai-headquartered format producer-distributor IPCN to produce the fourth season of China’s Next Top Model (pictured).

The 12 x 60-minute competition series – which previously aired on Sichuan TV and the Chinese Travel Channel – is airing on CQTV for the first time, and is being filmed in Shanghai and Chongqing with the season finale shot by a Chinese production crew in London.

The new season features 30 aspiring models, with the winner receiving a modelling contract and a Vogue China photo spread. Celebrity judges for the new season of China’s Next Top Model include model and actress Lynn Hung, model Sean Zhang and stylist Lucia Liu.

“It’s the first time the show has been produced to such a high standard and we’re delighted to be bringing IPCN’s expert Chinese production crew to London to shoot the finale in collaboration with our London-based team,” said IPCN CEO Rebecca Yang in a statement.

Liu Xuewei, vice director of CQTV, commissioned the show, while Yang is exec producing for IPCN.

IPCN – which also has offices in Beijing, London and Hong Kong – has brokered a number of deals for international series, including China’s Got Talent and The Voice of China. The company’s Shanghai-based team also produces local versions of international programs for the Chinese market, and has reversioned such shows as The Secret Millionaire and Super Nanny.
