Electus exec to head int’l distribution at IM Global TV

International sales company IM Global has named former Electus exec Eli Shibley (pictured) as president of international distribution and coproductions for its television division.

The appointment comes as IM Global Television expands into international distribution and looks to bolster its scripted and unscripted offerings. Launched in mid-2014, the division focuses on the development, production, financing and distribution of scripted content for traditional and SVOD platforms.

In his new post, Shibley - who formerly served as senior VP of international media and formats at Electus – will be charged with handling sales of the entertainment company’s scripted series and acquiring third-party unscripted and scripted projects from a raft of international content providers.

In addition, Shibley – who is to work alongside IM Global founder and CEO Stuart Ford and IM Global TV president Mark Stern - will oversee partnerships and international copros between content creators and key U.S. and global buyers.

Prior to acquiring international formats for the American market at Electus, Shibley co-founded the London sales team at Shine International, and also helped to launch the LA-based Reveille International.

Founded in 2007, IM Global operates an international film sales and distribution platform and carries a catalog of more than 250 titles that have collectively grossed more than US$5 billion in worldwide box office sales.

“Eli is an outstanding distribution executive and his arrival is a major coup for our TV distribution business,” said Stuart Ford in a statement. “I envision scripted and unscripted TV sales becoming a substantial component of our already extensive global licensing platform in the next few years.”
