A+E Networks UK has appointed former RTL Netherlands exec Nicolas Eglau (pictured, left) as chief operating officer and promoted Heather Jones (right) to senior VP of content and creative.

As COO – a newly created role – Eglau will oversee operating and commercial units in the UK and other territories including France, as well as divisions such as legal, financial, strategy, distribution and ad sales.

He will also serve as GM for the Nordics, Benelux and CEEMA, and lead offices in Copenhagen, Warsaw and Johannesburg.

The exec will join A+E in September and will report to Dean Possenniskie, MD for EMEA.

In this role, he managed the Dutch company’s cable TV division and oversaw the launch of RTL Lounge, RTL Crime and RTL Telekids. Before that, he worked as the RTL Group’s VP for Central and Eastern Europe.
