UK pubcaster Channel 4 has ordered a celebrity-fronted history biography series from Outline Productions.

The format, entitled Born On, explores the lives of three individuals born on the same day. While one of them is now a high-profile figure, the others are ordinary people,  but with “extraordinary stories to tell.” The program is distributed internationally by DRG.

Born On combines interviews with personal archives and revisits the people and places that have made an impact on each individual, ultimately revealing the connections between all three subjects.

“The series will use the contrasting experiences of very different individuals and through their moving, personal perspectives provide a unique and powerful exploration of contemporary British social history,” reads a release from C4.

Executive producers for Outline Productions include Laura Mansfield and Bridget Boseley, while the series producer is Mary Crisp. The series was commissioned by C4 commissioning editor Rob Coldstream and deputy chief creative officer Ralph Lee.

Born On was originally created by Norwegian producer Monster for broadcaster NRK. It launched earlier this year in Norway.
