Beyond Distribution inks deals for “Love It or List It”

Beyond Distribution has optioned the rights to Canadian home design format Love It or List It (pictured) to FremantleMedia in Belgium, Elk Productions in Sweden and Mastiff Entertainment in Norway.

The distributor has also sent all six seasons of the Big Coat Productions-made original series to Discovery Networks Denmark, while sending the sixth season to Scripps Networks Interactive in Asia, Foxtel Australia and Spain’s Mediaset.

Raise The Roof Productions was commissioned last June to produce a sophomore season of Love It or List It UK for British pubcaster Channel 4.

The Love It or List It format sees a realtor and home designer competing against one another to convince divided homeowners to either remain in their newly redesigned home or relocate to a different house scouted by the real estate agent.

BBC Worldwide links with China’s Mango TV

BBC Worldwide (BBCWW) has continued its expansion into mainland China by securing a digital deal with Mango TV.

Under the agreement, Mango TV subscribers will receive access to specially curated documentary and preschool content from the BBC, including Tigers About the House, in which an Australian zookeeper raises two Sumatran tiger cubs in his family home; and seasons one and two of Trust Me, I’m a Doctor, featuring answers to top medical questions.

In October, BBCWW inked original content deals and copros with a raft of Chinese broadcasters, including Shanghai Media Group and CCTV-9.

Kelvin Yau, GM of BBC Worldwide in Greater China, said the parties are in discussions to further explore production and format opportunities “particularly in iconic BBC documentaries, factual entertainment programs, dramas and films targeting the Chinese and global market.”

TruTV sets air date for Damien Lemon-hosted Comedy Knockout

Turner Broadcasting System-owned network truTV has marked April 21 for the premiere of its comedy competition series Comedy Knockout.

The 10 x 30-minute series, which is hosted by Damien Lemon, features three comedians going head-to-head in comedic gameplay by roasting one another. The series is produced by Embassy Row and 3 Arts Entertainment. Michael Davies, Amanda McPhillips, Julia Cassidy, Mo Mandel, Tim Fornara, Josh Lieberman and Greg Walter serve as executive producers.

Comedy Knockout premieres on April 21 at 10:30 p.m. EST/PST across truTV.
