Endemol Shine USA has bolstered its unscripted programming team with the promotions of Rob Day (pictured, left) and Kirk Anderson (right), and the appointment of former Relativity Television exec Jesse Kerns (center).
Since joining Endemol in 2006, Day – who is now executive VP and head of unscripted production – has overseen the production on such popular series as Fox’s MasterChef and MasterChef Junior, NBC’s The Biggest Loser, CNBC’s Billion Dollar Buyer and CBS’ Hunted. Prior to joining the prodco, he served as executive-in-charge of production for the Emmy-awarded series Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
Anderson, meanwhile, has been promoted to VP of unscripted production. He formerly served as executive director of production where he oversaw a raft of series from inception through to sale and delivery. His production credits with Endemol include CNBC’s Billion Dollar Buyer and Restaurant Startup, Bravo’s Tabatha Takes Over, GSN’s Minute To Win It and National Geographic Channel’s Forage Wars.
Elsewhere, Kerns, formerly Relativity Television’s senior VP of production, will join Endemol Shine USA as senior VP of unscripted production. Prior to joining Relativity Television – now Critical Content – Kerns worked for 10 years as a line-producer and in production management on a range of unscripted titles, including ABC’s Wipeout, Fox’s Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader, NBC’s Deal or No Deal? and Fear Factor, as well as OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network’s Breakthrough with Tony Robbins.
Both Kerns and Anderson will report to Day, while Day is to report to Eden Gaha, president of unscripted television at Endemol Shine USA.
“Rob is the consummate professional and has a tremendous amount of experience in both coordinating and producing many of the biggest unscripted hits of the last decade,” Gaha said in a statement. “And with our continued growth in the unscripted space, Rob has assembled a best-in-class team, led by both Jesse and Kirk, to oversee all of our additional development and series.”
