BBC Worldwide (BBCWW), the commercial arm of the UK pubcaster, has tapped ITV producer Jayne Stanger for a newly created role in its fact ent, factual and formats division.
As head of creative network for formats, Stanger will facilitate dialogue between BBCWW’s central format teams and their global production offices and intellectual property holders.
Prior to joining BBCWW, Stanger served as an executive producer on ITV’s The Voice Kids. Her production credits include Big Brother, Strictly Come Dancing, Fame Academy and The Weakest Link.
“I am delighted to be joining BBC Worldwide and to be sitting at the heart of a truly international creative network,” said Stanger, in a statement. “I look forward to building on the company’s reputation as the provider of the most talked about and loved entertainment brands in the world.”
Elsewhere, the fact ent, factual and formats division has also created a new role for Emma Hardie, BBCWW’s current commercial director for the BBC Earth brand.
As commercial director, factual entertainment, entertainment and formats, Hardie will develop commercial strategies and identify opportunities for the division. She is also responsible for cultivating investment opportunities through funding initiatives and partnerships with emerging social media buyers and other non-traditional players.
Hardie will report to Tracy Forsyth (pictured), the division’s genre director.
“Emma and Jayne are each powerhouses in what they do and I’m delighted to have them strengthening our team,” said Forsyth. “Their roles are designed to supercharge opportunities for our production partners to create IP [intellectual property] in factual entertainment and formats and ensure that the creative power of our global production network is maximized for the BBC Worldwide family.”
