NBC Universal-owned, crime-focused network Oxygen Media is prepping a series fronted by American rapper Ice-T.

In Ice Cold Blood features murder cases that resulted from an entanglement of sex and money. The series will explore real-life cases where passion and greed motivated assailants to kill.

Ice-T will serve as host, while the stories will be recounted first-hand by detectives and the victims’ friends and family. Reenactments and archival footage will also be used to bring each story to life.

In Ice Cold Blood is produced by Asylum Entertainment with Steven Michaels, Jonathan Koch and Brian Knappmiller serving as executive producers. Ice-T and Jorge Hinojosa will executive produce for Final Level Entertainment.

In Ice Cold Blood premieres on April 1 at 7 p.m. EST/PST.

Last February, Oxygen announced plans to refocus its programming to become a crime destination for women, and expand its reach within the 18-54 female demographic.
