Zac Efron will front and executive produce the most recent unscripted series ordered by mobile streamer Quibi ahead of its April launch.

The adventure series Killing Zac Efron, produced by New York-headquartered Zero Point Zero and Efron’s Ninjas Runnin’ Wild, will see the actor travel to the jungles of a remote island, with nothing but basic gear and a guide partner, for 21 days.

Jason Barrett and Michael Simkin are executive producers for Ninjas Runnin’ Wild alongside Efron, whose credits include scripted titles such as Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile and The Greatest Showman.

Chris Collins and Lydia Tenaglia, co-founders of Zero Point Zero, serve as executive producers for the company.

“I tend to thrive under extreme circumstances and seek out opportunities that challenge me on every level,” Efron said in a statement. “I am excited to explore any uncharted territory and discover what unexpected adventure awaits!”

“We are excited to partner with Quibi on this new mobile experience to bring the audience on a wild, one-of-a-kind immersive journey into Zac’s world as he travels through remote locations in search of adventure,” Tenaglia said in a statement.

Quibi is set to launch April 6.
