Sebastian Burkhardt, former managing director of global content at Keshet International, has joined Red Bull Media House as head of commercial partnerships for the multi-platform mediaco’s originals arm.

Burkhardt (pictured), who joined at the end of 2020, will be based in Los Angeles and lead all commercial platforms with distribution and production partners across TV and film. He steps into the role as the company looks to focus on the creation of premium series for global audiences in partnership with broadcasters and streaming platforms.

The executive stepped down from Keshet International, the production and distribution arm of Israeli mediaco Keshet Media Group, in April 2020 after five years with the company. Prior to serving as MD of global content, he held positions including SVP of digital and acquisitions and head of business development and acquisitions.

Before Keshet International, Burkhardt served in a number of roles at Banijay, most recently as SVP of international distribution.

Launched in 2007, Austria-headquartered Red Bull Media House specializes in producing and licensing a selection of sports, culture and lifestyle content, including original short- and long-form programming as well as feature films.

In August, Amsterdam-based producer-distributor Insight TV announced it had partnered with Red Bull Media House for a six-part series about the global breakdancing scene, set to air this year.
