I Can See Your Voice travels to France and Belgium

CJ ENM’s mystery music competition I Can See Your Voice is heading to France and Belgium, with both local versions to be produced by Warner Bros. International Television.

In France, the format (pictured) will air on M6 under the title Show Me Your Voice. Comedian and actor Issa Doumbia is attached to host.

In Belgium, the seven-episode series is scheduled to air on commercial network VTM (DPG) in the Dutch-speaking Belgium.

The format sees guests attempt to guess whether contestants are good or bad singers. It was originally created by Seon-young Lee in 2012. The first season premiered in Korea in February 2015, where it has aired for eight seasons.

As of 2021, I Can See Your Voice has been broadcast in 18 countries worldwide, with a recent adaptation in the U.S. on Fox, starring Ken Jeong as host. An additional adaptation is set in the UK for BBC1.

NAACP Image Awards doc winners unveiled

A selection of documentaries were recognized Monday (March 22) as part of the 52nd NAACP Image Awards non-televised virtual ceremony, running  through to Friday (March 26).

ESPN Films’ and Netflix’s The Last Dance, directed by Jason Hehir, picked up the award for Outstanding Documentary (Television – Series or Special), while Dawn Porter’s feature John Lewis: Good Trouble won Outstanding Documentary (Film).

Melissa Haizlip was presented the award for Outstanding Writing in a Documentary Film (Television or Motion Picture) for Mr. Soul! (PBS), directed by Haizlip and Sam Pollard.

Finally, Keith McQuirter took home the prize for Outstanding Directing in a Documentary (Television or Motion Picture) for the four-part EPIX series By Whatever Means Necessary: The Times of Godfather of Harlem.

The non-televised virtual ceremony will culminate with a two-hour live TV special airing on BET and simulcast across ViacomCBS networks’ including CBS, BET Her, VH1, MTV, MTV2 and Logo Saturday (March 27) at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Insight TV, KNVB team for docuseries

Global channel and producer Insight TV has signed an agreement with the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) to broadcast a five-part docuseries following the Dutch Under 21 National Football Team in their pursuit of European Championship glory.

Inside Oranje U21 (w/t), produced in partnership with KNVB, is a 5 x 30-minute series that charts the journey of the U21 team to qualify for the 2021 UEFA European Championships, which will be played in Hungary and Slovenia across March and June 2021.

Filmed from within the team’s “bubble” before, during and after the tournament, Insight TV will tell the insider stories of the next generation of Dutch soccer players.

The series will broadcast across Insight TV’s linear and digital networks worldwide, while ESPN will also air the series in the Netherlands.
