Gunpowder & Sky has signed a two-year deal with HBO Max and HBO with a first-look at the studio’s library of documentaries and docuseries.
The independent studio’s slate includes 69: The Saga of Danny Hernandez (pictured); Lil Peep’s Everybody’s Everything; Werner Herzog’s Last Exit: Space; Kid Candidate; Betting on Zero; and Exit Through the Gift Shop.
Los Angeles and New York-based Gunpowder & Sky, founded by Van Toffler and Floris Bauer in partnership with The Chernin Group and AT&T, creates and distributes feature films, series, short form content, podcasts and channels.
Since its inception in 2016, the company has released more than 30 feature films and series and more than 750 short films in theaters, on TVOD and on leading services such as HBO, Netflix, MTV, Hulu, Sky, Showtime, Spotify, Amazon, YouTube, Quibi, Audible and Discovery.
Gunpowder & Sky also owns and operates content brands that include unscripted and comedy brand Cut, among others.
