Noah Media Group, a London-based film and TV production company, will co-produce a slate of documentary projects with Sky Studios, the organizations announced today (June 22).
The prodco will co-produce an exclusive slate of feature documentaries and series across a range of topics, several rooted in sports, with Sky Studios, Sky’s’ production and development arm in Europe.
The projects are expected to target Comcast-owned Sky’s factual channels across Europe, as well as viewers around the rest of the world, with global distribution handled by Sky’s sister company, NBCUniversal.
Noah Media Group is known for its work on recent feature-length sports documentaries including The Edge (pictured), which premiered in 2019 and tracks the rise of the England test cricket team. Noah’s team includes filmmaker Gabriel Clarke (Steve McQueen: The Man & Le Mans) and director and producer Torquil Jones (Bobby Robson: More Than a Manager).
John McKenna, CEO of Noah, called the agreement an exciting first step as it’s the first multi-film partnership his company has entered into. Sky Studios’ director of factual, Barnaby Shingleton, also praised the deal.
“Working with our factual commissioning teams in the UK, Italy and Germany, we’re excited to bring new documentaries from Noah Media Group to our 23.4 million customers across Europe and to viewers around the world,” Shingleton said.
“Noah are uniquely placed in the market, creating premium documentaries that capture the zeitgeist and bring a fresh perspective to untold stories.”
The first collaboration between Noah and Sky Studios is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
