Apple TV+ has ordered up a new documentary event series about the NFL’s New England Patriots, The Dynasty.
The 10-part series comes from Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Documentaries, in association with NFL Films, and is based on the New York Times-bestselling book of the same name by Jeff Benedict.
In the book, Benedict, who spent two years inside the organization, charts the 20-year run of the Patriots during the Brady-Belichick-Kraft era, which included six Super Bowl championships. The docuseries, directed by Matthew Hamachek (Tiger), promises unprecedented access to the team, including never-before-seen video footage and audio files from the organization’s archive. The filmmakers were also granted access to the organization during the 2021 season and are conducting interviews with past and present Patriots players, coaches and executives, along with league officials and the team’s rivals.
The Dynasty is produced by Imagine Documentaries in association with NFL Films. Executive producers are Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Sara Bernstein, Justin Wilkes and Jenna Millman (The First Wave), along with Hamachek and Benedict. Miranda Johnson (60 Days) serves as co-executive producer.
The new series joins an expanding lineup of unscripted content on Apple TV+, including the upcoming Magic Johnson event series They Call Me Magic, which debuts in April.
