Endemol Shine Boomdog to launch Are You For Real? format in Mexico

Banijay has announced that Endemol Shine Boomdog, part of Banijay Americas, will partner with TelevisaUnivision to produce a Mexican edition of the quiz-show format Are You For Real?, to be known locally as Cuál es el Bueno?).

Developed by Endemol Shine Boomdog, Endemol Shine Italy and TelevisaUnivision, the format is a guessing game that presents three individuals who each claim to possess a certain talent, job, or characteristic, but only one of them is telling the truth. It’s up to the show’s three famous guests, who are dubbed the “fake hunters,” to figure out the truth using questions and their own intuition as they decide who is speaking facts and who is a master of deception. A randomly selected audience member who is sitting in the winning “fake hunter’s” section will then get a chance of winning a cash prize.

“We are excited to continue our successful partnership with Televisa with our latest joint production effort, Are You For Real?,” said Alejandro Rincón, CEO of Endemol Shine Boomdog, in a release.

Added James Townley, global head of content development: “Are You For Real? has all the ingredients for a hit game show — it is fun, entertaining, and play-along for the whole family. We’re thrilled to have been able to help bring this epic guessing-game format to life, with support from the Banijay Creative Fund.”

TF1 Group strengthens partnership with French football fed and UEFA

French commercial broadcaster TF1 has announced a new partnership with the French Football Federation and UEFA that involves the acquisition of a series of rights, linear and non-linear, to matches through 2028, supplemented by editorial enhancements that mark TF1′s push to strengthen its coverage of the sport.

The agreement includes the exclusive acquisition of all rights to the matches of the French national team, including UEFA Nations League, friendly matches, UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers, the FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers and UEFA Euro 2028 qualifiers. It also includes exclusive free-to-air rights to the UEFA Euro 2028′s 25 best matches.

Another element of the deal will see the French Football Federation providing TF1 with access to never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage of the French team (known as “les Blues”) in order to facilitate the production of series and documentaries about the squad for linear and digital exploitation.
