The workplace reality genre is getting that much sweeter with TLC’s order of Candy Queen (w/t), a Half Yard Productions series set to premiere on the Discovery Communications network this winter.

Production has begun on the six-part, half-hour series starring Jackie Sorkin, who runs The Hollywood Candy Girls, an events and candy company.

Candy Queen will follow Sorkin working alongside her “Candy Crew,” while also juggling the demands of being a wife and mother.

On Sorkin’s blog, she said of the news, “Anyone who watches reality TV or is addicted to it like I am knows that this could possibly be a really fun, crazy, embarrassing and what I hope will be a very HONEST ride into our world & our lives.”

Candy Queen joins TLC’s larger-than-life workplace series, like Cake Boss and LA Ink, revealing the mouthwatering art of Jackie’s business and the sweet and sour side of balancing a career, a family, and everything else,” said Howard Lee, SVP, production & development, TLC.
