Canada’s Quebecor Media is getting into the format business with Israel’s Armoza Formats.

The Quebec media group’s QMI Content division has entered a collaboration deal that will see the Tel Aviv-based format developer and distributor become the sole international shopper of its TV shows.

The partnership will see Armoza launch two formats based on popular TVA shows at MIPTV, including the family game show Only One Knows. Armoza will also shop the scripted drama The Killer Inside.

Quebecor Media and Armoza will also work together to develop new formats for international exploitation.

This partnership continues from Armoza’s other such collaboration deals with leading international broadcasters including China’s JSBC and Argentina’s Telefe.

“The French Canadian market has always demonstrated a highly creative profile and it’s time to put international buyers in link with it,” France Lauzière, QMI Content executive vice president, said in a statement Wednesday.
