Scripps Networks Interactive-owned channel Food Network has set a November launch date for its holiday baking competition series, Cake Wars: Christmas.

The Super Delicious Productions-made series will feature seven teams battling head-to-head through two rounds of challenges to craft eccentric cake displays.

The 6 x 60-minute series will first see bakers compete through the Stocking Stuffer Challenge, racing to create an edible Christmas-themed cake. The winning team will then have an advantage in Santa’s Mega Challenge, where the teams will be tasked with creating a masterful cake display.

Hosted by actor Jonathan Bennett (pictured), contestants must impress American pop culture humorist and chef Charles Phoenix, renowned American pastry chef Sherry Yard and special guest judges for the chance to take home a grand prize total of US$50,000.

Cake Wars: Christmas will premiere on November 9 at 9 p.m. EST/PST on Food Network. The final episode is to air on December 14.
