Optomen USA appoints senior VP of development

Former BBC America executive Ricky Kelehar (pictured) has joined All3Media-owned Optomen USA as the indie's senior VP of development.

Former BBC America executive Ricky Kelehar (pictured) has joined All3Media-owned Optomen USA as the indie’s senior VP of development.

In the new role, Kelehar will be based in New York and report to Optomen USA president Maria Silver.

Kelehar most recently served as VP of unscripted programming and development at BBC America, where he oversaw global automotive smash Top Gear, as well as Earth programming.

Prior to this, Kelehar served as head of factual entertainment at UK prodcos Tiger Aspect, North One Television and IWC Media, and also led the BBC fact-ent divisions in London and Manchester, and formed the fact-ent offices in New York.

Kelehar’s credits include Channel 4′s Gadget Man, Dave’s Argumental and the BBC’s The Hunt, Almost Royal and Mud Sweat and Gears.

Optomen is behind such top-rated series as Food Network’s Worst Cooks in America franchise, ID’s Scorned: Love Kills, Fox’s Kitchen Nightmares and Travel Channel’s Mysteries at the Museum.
