ABC Commercial has sold lifestyle series The Flying Winemaker to Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific for its TLC channels in Central and South Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Rim and India.

The 13 x 30-minute series follows Eddie McDougall, a Hong Kong-based winemaker, as he explores Asia’s undiscovered wine varieties, Asian food markets and restaurants.

Produced by WD Entertainment Group, The Flying Winemaker sets out to showcase the best wines out of Asia, the industry’s fastest growing market.

“We are always looking for fresh new talent and concepts for TLC in Asia-Pacific,” said┬áCharmaine Kwan, vice president of programming at Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific. “This series fits the bill, bringing a brand new face to the channel and a concept which marries food and wine, two topics much loved by our viewers.”

“This deal with Discovery Channel Asia-Pacific expands WDE’s footprint across Asia as we continue to produce premium content with unique storytelling,” added producer Wes Dening.
