Banijay International has inked a collaborative deal with French indie La Grosse Équipe that will see the UK-based distributor handling global sales of its entire catalog.
The joint partnership will also see the two companies working together on select formats developed for the international market.
Founded in 2005, La Grosse Équipe’s unscripted slate includes such titles as the NRJ12 flagship reality series Les Anges de la Télé Réalité (pictured), which is now in its seventh season, as well as competitive reality program Friendstrip, game show Face à la Bande and the documentary The Great Escapes.
The deal was brokered by Fanny Baudry, VP of global acquisitions for formats and programs at Banijay International, and Nora Raï, secretary general of La Grosse Équipe.
The deal comes days after Banijay Group confirmed a potential merger with superindie Zodiak Media.
“We are delighted to be working with the talented team behind La Grosse Équipe, with its strong credentials in reality TV, having produced one of France’s most successful long-running series,” said Emmanuelle Namiech, MD at Banijay International, in a statement.
“They have established a reputation for putting together shows very cost efficiently and as such can provide programming for all budgets and platforms, which is a real attribute for today’s broadcasters,” she added.
