Scripps Networks Interactive-owned Food Network has set an August 28 premiere for Guy Fieri’s Guy’s Grocery Games (pictured) celebrity chef spin-off.

Produced by Triage Entertainment, Guy’s Superstar Grocery Games will pit eight top celebrity chefs against one another in a run of five-week market challenges in the Flavortown Market.

Each week, culinary experts will be tasked with a variety of challenges including crafting their signature dishes using only ingredients from the middle aisles; designing a fine-dining meal using ingredients chosen by the Food Pyramid; and making a gourmet entree using Guy’s son’s favorite snack foods.

At the culmination of each episode, judges Troy Johnson, Carl Ruiz and Aarti Sequeira will determine which of the culinary experts will advance to the next round for the chance to win the US$40,000 grand prize for the charity of their choice.

Competing chefs include Richard Blais, Maneet Chauhan, Eric Greenspan, Alex Guarnaschelli, Marc Murphy, Damaris Phillips, Jet Tila and Justin Warner.

Guy’s Superstar Grocery Games will premiere August 28 at 8 p.m. EST/PST on Food Network.
