Discovery Channel has elevated Emmy Award-winning executive producer Joseph Boyle to senior vice president of production and development, effective immediately.

In his new post, Boyle will oversee all upcoming and on-going series for the flagship network. He will continue to be based in Los Angeles and reports into Nancy Daniels, chief brand officer of Discovery and factual.

Most recently, Boyle served as VP of production and development, a role he was promoted to in May 2017.

Since joining Discovery, Boyle has been on the forefront of many of the net’s acclaimed series, including the Emmy-winning Deadliest Catch, Naked and Afraid and its spin-off Naked and Afraid XL.

Prior to joining Discovery in 2013, Boyle was a showrunner on numerous productions for Discovery, TLC, Animal Planet, and more.

“Joe has a passion for telling stories and an incredible creative vision. He has not only cultivated new programs for the network but has re-invigorated many of our longest-running hit series,” Daniels said in a statement.
