Channel 4′s Ed Havard will join NBC Entertainment as the director of entertainment partnerships between the UK and the US.
Havard is charged with procuring partnerships and business relations with talent in the region — in front of and behind the camera — that have “potential for transatlantic crossover.”
Based in London, the executive will drive business opportunities between NBC Entertainment, NBCUniversal International prodcos and the Sky portfolio of networks and prodcos.
Havard will also oversee the development production and launch of Universal Television Alternative Studios formats in the UK.
“We want to be the home for the best ideas and talent coming out of the U.K.,” Enrique Guillen, executive vice president of commercial strategy and international development at NBC Entertainment, said in a statement. “Ed’s 20 years of experience as a commissioner, developer and producer, and his relationships with key talent, will help make NBC Entertainment the first port of call for the vibrant U.K. creative community.”
Havard most recently served as head of entertainment and TV events for British pubcaster Channel 4 for seven years. He began his career in news and current affairs at the BBC, where he was the editor of BBC1′s debate program Question Time.
