Scottish indie prodco Two Rivers Media is enlisting former A+E Networks senior executive Hayley Babcock to assist with its expansion into the U.S.
Under the terms of the deal, Babcock’s (pictured) new Los Angeles-based company – Hayley Babcock Media Consulting – will help Two Rivers’ attain its production and business goals in the U.S by leading the company’s creative development, production and business strategy.
Babcock, formerly A+E Networks International head of formats, will help expand Two Rivers by driving new partnerships, production deals and other collaborations for Two Rivers with the company’s U.S. agents ICM, culling from her creative and production expertise in the international format business, which included developing new content for worldwide distribution, identifying formats within the A+E group of channels to roll out internationally and partnering with indie producers to develop new format concepts.
“International growth is an area of strategic importance to Two Rivers, not only in relation to our commercial success, but also in relation to the future development of, and investment in, our team in the UK,” said Alan Clements, managing director of Two Rivers Media, in a statement.
“Hayley Babcock is an extremely timely partnership for us, as we already have US-based projects underway.”
The move follows the announcement of Two Rivers’ strategic partnership with independent distributor All3Media International last fall, including handling the rights of both scripted and non-scripted Two Rivers properties and the co-production of any sold shows under the partnership.
Aside from her A+E duties, Babcock ran Sony Pictures Television’s unscripted international format production business and launched 20th Century Fox’s format production division during her seven-year tenure there.
Consulting for Endemol-Shine, 2026, DRG (now Nent Studios), Whalerock Industries and A+E International, Babcock has overseen the global rollout, adaptation and production of Shark Tank (aka Dragons’ Den); Who Wants to be a Millionaire; Temptation Island; Wheel of Fortune; Beauty and the Geek; Hollywood Squares; The Seven Year Switch and The Rap Game.
Launched in 2019 and founded by CEO Alan Clements, former Director of Content at STV Productions, the Glasgow-based Two Rivers Media specializes in creating factual, factual entertainment, entertainment and scripted content.
