TLC ups Howard Lee

The Discovery-owned cable network has promoted Howard Lee (pictured), the exec producer of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, to executive VP of production and development.

U.S. cable network TLC has promoted Howard Lee (pictured) to executive VP of production and development.

Formerly senior VP of program production and development, Lee will continue to run TLC’s bi-coastal production teams in Silver Springs and Los Angeles, and executive produce Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, the reality hit he co-developed and co-created.

Lee’s unscripted credits also include Breaking Amish, Long Island Medium, Cake Boss and Sister Wives, as well as Toddlers & Tiaras and The Little Couple.

He joined the Discovery Communications-owned network in 2008. Before that he was the VP of development and production for the 2007 launch of Planet Green, which Discovery rebranded as Destination America last year. Prior to that he was VP of development for the Travel Channel.
