ITV has ordered the documentary My Garden Nightmare (working title) from The Secret Life of Four Year Olds producer RDF Television.

The one x 60-minute program will examine problems British gardeners can face, such as Spanish slugs, badgers, mudslides and backyard burglaries. Zodiak Rights will shop the doc internationally.

The Zodiak Media-owned prodco is also working on a sequel to ITV’s 100 Year Old Drivers Ride Again, which will air on the British broadcaster this summer. Both programs were commissioned by the channel’s controller of factual Jo Clinton-Davis and director of factual Richard Klein.

Backyard wildlife has become a trend of late in British television. The topic came up during the Sunny Side of the Doc conference and market in La Rochelle, France last month as broadcasters discussed diversifying approaches to nature programming to encompass more than marquee blue-chip specials.
